World Cancer Day

Cancer is still the leading cause of mortality in the world, well before wars and other natural disasters. He makes much less talk about him, but he kills. Yet he is taking care of himself and the interest of this day is also to raise awareness of the usefulness of an early screening to achieve a cure.

WHO estimates that cancer will have killed 84 million people between 2005 and 2015 if no action is taken. It is for this reason that major efforts are being made to reduce the burden of this disease throughout the world.

An interesting initiative was recently taken by the ARC, namely the creation of a website dedicated to cancer and allowing Internet users to find answers to their questions: www.arc-cancer.net

The different regions of the world are not equal to cancer and if the northern hemisphere benefits from important means in the detection and the treatment of cancers, the countries of the South and the accoutimed do not receive such attentions. A highly documented file is available on the Our Planet Info website (link below).
